NAWBO Announces 15th Annual Top 10 Michigan Business Women Awards
The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Detroit Chapter recently honored the Top 10 Michigan Business Women at their 15th Annual Awards Luncheon. Among those honored was Barbara Hendrickson CPIM of Design Incentives who received the "Warrior Award" which recognizes women business owners who persevere and continue to build a successful organization despite economic downturns.

Over 60 women joined us for our 2nd "Girl's Night" where we enjoyed some female bonding along with wine, cheese, chocolate and shopping! Many of our factories sent in specially-priced merchandise to be used in programs and perfect for Holiday shopping. An engraver was on site to personalize the crystal and giftware purchases. Thanks to all who joined us -- it was great to spend some time with you!

Barb Hendrickson, President, Design Incentives, Inc. has been re-elected to the
Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) Board of Directors. Barb will being her second 3-year term, serving as Vice President in 2009.

CORP! MAGAZINE names Barbara Hendrickson an Entrepreneur of Distinction Corp! Magazine featured notable business professionals in the July/August 2008 issue of the Michigan publication, profiling The Entrepreneur of Distinction Awards sponsored by Comcast Business Class. Each honoree demonstrated business impressive activities, major sccomplishments, special skills and innovative approaches. Barbara Hendrickson is one of 18 honorees within Michigan. Sweet Suite Show!
Eight of our supplier/manufacturers enjoyed hosting many of our customers at our Suite Show in June. All our guests got to spin the "wheel of fortune" for valuable prizes (or Sweets!) after viewing the newest and latest products and talking to Sales Managers about program possibilities. Thanks to our suppliers that participated, and all of the attendees who took time to stop by! June, 2008

GIRL'S NIGHT 2007! Thanks to all of our customers and friends who attended our first-ever Girl's Night at the Troy Marriott! The ladies enjoyed a glass of wine or sparkling water, saw the latest products from many of our lines that are appropriate for women's marketing programs, and did some Holiday shopping (sample sale!).
 
CONCOURS D' ELEGANCE: Design Incentives set up shop in the Gladiator Garage Works tent with Gladiator Gear. The local Garageworks distributor got lots of leads from the car enthusiasts who braved the rainy weather to come out to the Meadow Brook event!
BRAND EVENT: The Corporate Marketplace brought in the latest merchandise from the lines they carry: Tag Heuer, Lladro, Mont Blanc, Kenneth Cole, The Jewelry Collection and more. Many customers came out to the Somerset Inn in Troy to check out the on-line Private Store as well as a new gift card program that allows the customer to keep the "breakage". If you couldn't make it but would like an overview of the info, please call us to set up a meeting!
Stacie Pinnavaia was featured in The Detroit Free Press "Twist" section in
the Dec 17-25 issue(www.twistdetroit.com) in an article called "Curl
Power". Stacie is a member of the Detroit Curling Club women's league in
Ferndale. Stacie was a PGA golf professional at Oakland Hills for 12 years
and took up curling to have something to do in the off season. Stacie was
also in sales at Merrill Lynch prior to joining Design Incentives in
November of 2006.

In September, 2005, Barbara Hendrickson, President of Design Incentives,
Inc. achieved CPIM designation from the Incentive Marketing Association. To
earn the CPIM (Certified Professional of Incentive Management) designation,
the individual must demonstrate their leadership activity and commitment to
continuing education in the incentive field, pass an intensive exam on the
principles of results-based incentive program design, and develop a white
paper on a topic relevant to the incentive field. Barbara's White Paper on
"Incentives and the Automotive Industry" will be published at

Incentive Magazine's publisher Jackie Augustine announced the recipients of their National Manufacturers Rep of the Year Award at IMRA's recent Marketing
Conference. DESIGN INCENTIVES, INC., was once again voted one of the Top 10
Manufacturers Representatives to the corporate channel in the country.
